PERMIT AND REGULATION

As of July 1999, special permits are no longer necessary for Everest, Lang tang and Annapurna regions. The remaining regions such as upper Mustang, upper Dolpo, Kanchanjunga, Humla and Manslu are still categorized as restricted regions and therefore require special permits. Note that in most arranged arranged treks the costs of the permits are included as part of the overall price and are arranged for by the trekking agencies.
